A small restaurant in the North End of Halifax, Field Guide is dedicated to bridging the gap between diners and their food through an open concept kitchen and passionate service. Placing a big focus on supporting local farmers and producers, featuring NS craft beers and serving up some of the best cocktails around, Field Guide is a place to gather.
Everyone agrees that Marc is the funniest and kindest of all the FG staff. He can also tell a mean story. Come hang out with him and see what we we’re talking about and ask him about his leather goods business and his adorable dog Darby while you’re at it!
Nat came to us as a 21 y/o ready to learn and learn she did. She is now responsible for all of our beautiful desserts and is the most detail oriented which is the best. We’d love if she never leaves FG and will continue to allow her to eat a whole cheese board after every shift if she stays.
Loves baseball, beer and his Scottish Terrier Toni. Hates losing softball games, anything that is too cool and disorganization. An incredible bar tender who is always motivated to make things better. He is also very fun to drink with but may fall asleep a little too early.
FG’s sweetheart, Em, has grown into such a great bar tender in the last couple of years. Come in and have her make something off menu for you because her drinks are always on point. She also loves to laugh so be kind and tell her a joke!
Used to moonlight as a server and work as a graphic designer, now moonlights as a graphic designer and heads up Field Guide full time because she just loves food, drink and FG that much. Mutually agreed upon that everyone’s life is better now. An all around creative force.
Opened FG as Chef at age 24, has worked every position more than once, can fix every piece of equipment and tile a floor with a broken hand. Loves to learn and get. shit. done.
Justin is the coolest guy you’ll meet and the most genuine guy EVER, who is a country boy at the core and loves a good camp fire sing-a-long. He leads with his heart and we are so glad he found his spot as Chef here at FG.
